After several days of prayer it was decided that we would conduct our last time of outdoor spiritual warfare of this trip by praying along side both the east bound and west bound lanes. In addition to this, the Lord had shown our team leader Aimee that we needed to pour a bucket of water on each of the lanes we prayed over. I believe that the Lord had shown me that the blood of all the innocent victims of these highway fatalities, as well as that of their families who suffered because of their loss, was crying out to God. The water which we were to pour out was symbolic of this road being washed clean of the blood by the River of Living Water which was flowing from each member of the team. About 9:30 on
Tuesday morning we headed to a spot which the Lord had shown Bob we should
pray over. After lunch we headed to the village of Upper Fruitlands to do a VBS for kids at the Walter Collins recreation center.
Afterwards we broke out the balloons and also did more face painting.
After returning to the Mission that afternoon, the Lord put the finishing touch on the trip for us. There in the eastern sky was another 1/4 rainbow!! In four days He had shown us four 1/4 rainbows. Together they made up the full rainbow He had given us at the valley ranch in Colorado the evening before we left for Shiprock. This time the praise team was composing songs about any topic someone wanted. There was even one about the purple shag carpet which was on the floor in the mission basement which we were using as a dining room and fellowship hall. (As an indication of our team's 'unique' sense of humor, it might be noted here that the worship team had adopted a name for their band. They called themselves "Robin Hood and His Band of British Praise and Worship Puppets!")
Since it was Nathan's 14th birthday on Wednesday we celebrated it on Tuesday evening as we were all leaving Many Waters in the morning. But his best present was yet to come! THE KISS!
Rebekah and Danielle give Nathan his birthday kiss
(Sorry Nathan, but I told you this one would be on
our web site)
By 9:30 AM on Wednesday each of the 3 groups and the YWAM staff had all departed on their separate ways. We are however all going to be in prayer about returning as one team next year and beginning where we left off. My prayer for our group as we headed home was that as awesome as this trip was, it would become a fading memory in the minds of each of us. Not because it was lacking in any way, but my prayer was that what God has in store for each of the team members in the near future would be as far beyond this experience as this experience was beyond anything they had encountered with God up until this time. My prayer was that Mission Adventure 99 would be remembered not because of the awesome things God which did in, for and through us, but merely because it was the first one. Should any of
our visitors wish to contact Don and Lynn Cartwright they can be reached
